Bill,

Considering you did not know what or where the bonnet was or how to stow your top, I would leave the ECU issue to a mechanic or Dealer.

Take it to a dealer and have them plug into it and see what the issue is. If it is a bad ECU, It's about $1000 for your car.

If you mess with it, you might make it worse.

I KNOW I'M SCARING YOU AGAIN.... LOL :-)

Too much speculation. You need to find out what the fault code is.

OK where are the ECU's can I get to them easily??

There is a definate loss of power "as it flutters" off the line it is running rich "like too much fuel" in a dirtbike or when plugs are oil fouled. When I saw the "check engine" light go on I drive it home on the freeway "which took an hour" but at speed especially above 2000 rpm you hardly notice any issues which was 95% of that 1 hour of driving.

OK assume it's the ECU issue "how much $$$" should I expect to pay??

PS... thanks a lot for your responses , I appreciate the input as I get familiar w/ the Ferrari's in's and out's :-)

Bill, is the car seriously down on power? If so, you may have the dreaded ECU problem. When an engine ECU goes bad, it tends to make one bank run really poorly or not at all. Seriously down on power, car sounds flatulent. Do not drive it like this. Try swapping the ECUs to see if the problem moves to the other bank (other side's Check Engine light comes on instead).

vty,

Might be worth a look at the (warm) O2 sensor(s) output(s) to see if their behavior is quasi-reasonable or not as a first step...

Sounds like a clogged injector or clogged fuel filter.

All the sudden I noticed the car sounds like irregular "misfire" not "detonation" as in running lean but like running very rich "until" under load in higher rpm's.Annoying as well as
doing the similar on idleing.
Any suggestions??
After I noticed it I assumed bad fuel and filled up from 1/4 tank to full and put some miles on it "no improvement".
I think I may have a clogged injector or fouled plugs.what do ya' think??
