BTW:
$18k seems like a "steal deal" for that box.

Fortunately the trans looks good and most components mic out with the big exception for one tooth sheared off on the fixed gear of 2nd.
It would probably not have occurred, but whomever rebuilt the box last, (owner thinks someone up in Massachusettes), did not align the main shift shaft correctly (initial pin line up.
Subsequently, each individual shift shaft was way out of wack by the same distance set improperly on the first. The 4-5 shift fork was actually contacting the 2-3 gear set.
I think other than the gear, one shift fork and then syncro rings and maybe some shift sleeves, and other parts getting close to their wear limits, it will be sweet again. So thanks for both tips.
They're still expensive at $1600 per gear set in my book. |

Last summer when I did a gearbox overhaul on my 365BB, I had no trouble finding gears (3rd) from Ferrari-UK, as well as all the other wear-related parts. Good pricing and quick shipping, as well.
