I have similar 16" three pc. Etoile wheels on my '77 308GTB. They have the same center section.
I believe that 10 hours to refinish! I'm going to do the same and get that gold off of there.
I saw some 14" Gotti on a jap car junker the other day in Houston! Mine have twice as many fasteners around the rim as these do.
7" x 16" fronts, 8" x 16" rears. The tires in rear just brush innner fender on full suspension travel. Just don't launch the car over RR tracks.
I have had no luck finding any current availablity
on replacement or additional rims. Any new/old stock out there? I think Etoile is gone.

Jeff is correct...Etoile took over the manufacture of this wheel design from a company called Gotti who originally produced this design as a 3-piece wheel back in the 80's (BTW, they were close to $1,000 per rim back then). My car has the original Gotti version, and were put on the car by the original / previous owner. They look nice when they're all polished up. Good luck finding the Ferrari style center caps for them though, as they are quite a bit larger in diameter than the original F-car center caps. Luckily, mine already had them (perhaps ordered with the rims back in those days). I recently saw a set of BBS wheel Ferrari center caps on eBay that I thought might fit, but they were the wrong size. Here's a close up pic of the Gotti version:

I am very interested in these wheels. Does anyone know without a doubt if they will fit an 85 Mondial Cab? If they require spacers that would be ok as long as someone can tell me where to get spacers and new lug bolts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris -- Do a search on "Mondial offset" (AND mode) and you should get some threads where others have mentioned that the Mondial offsets are in the +45 ~ +55 mm ballpark so I'd guess that they would fit the Mondials OK too.

The bolt pattern is the same as the 308. The front wheels actually bolted onto the 308 (but definitely did not have the correct offset). The back wheels hit suspension pieces so they could not be tightened fast.

Forgot, you could be of 10 mm on the offset and the whells will still go right on and work fine, so it sounds like they're a bolt-on for 328 ABS, spacer on onther models. Did you confirm the bolt pattern?

If you like them, you could just have a set of spacers made and put them on. Just a thought.

I haven't measured, but I've been told the offsets from centerline for 308QV 16" wheels are
Front: +11.15 mm (7" wheels)
Rear: +11.45 mm (8" wheels)

Mark, that is the question that I was hoping someone would be able to answer. I really like the way these wheels look and would have liked a second set of rims to put some R compound tires on. When I first bought my car the previous owner had Comp TA R1s on it. Oh my, they only lasted about 3000 miles, but that was the most fun I have ever had in a car. I put some S02s on it to get some better tread ware, and also some wet traction. The S02s, while a good tire, cannot compare to the R compounds.

The only information that I have been able to dig up, is from Kinesis (a wheel manufacturer). Who said that there 328 ABS rims offsets are 48/65 mm (front/back). Which is pretty close (but not the same as) my measured 47/57 mm.

So who does know what these wheels fit? Are they for a later 328 (ABS) or are they for something else?

These are earlier model etoile wheels. I think they are beautiful and always have thought so.
I had the later model ones, (even rarer) on what is now Steve Rochlin's 308. I refinished them by hand with over 10 hours loving labor in each one. I also disolved the gold paint with acetone and repainted the backgrounds ceramic black.
IMHO they are the prettiest wheels out there. If they were 18" I swap for my 355 wheels.
Those wheels are COOL!

Good looking but I don't think they are original. At least not for the 89 328. Look to be aftermarket.

If they fit a Mondial I would be interested in them. I would love to get rid of these metrics I have.

Hi, I bought a set of 16" etoile 2 pc rims about three years ago for my 308. Unfortunately they did not fit. The previous owner insisted they came of off a 308. Me not knowing any better (and not knowing about this list for information) thought that maybe the 308s had different offsets over the years and since I only stated that they were to fit a 308 thought I was at fault so I still have them. The measured back space is 5.75" (146mm) for the 7" and 6.75" (171mm) for the 8" rims. The calculated offsets would be about 47 mm (front) and 57 mm (back).

I believe they maybe for a 328 ABS or maybe one of the Mondial varieties. Does anyone out there know what they should fit?

I am planning on moving sometime in the next couple of months and do not feel like dragging these along with me. The rims are in very good shape. They were just polished and clear coated before I got them. It's a shame they do not fit my car, they would have made a nice set of track rims. If anyone is interested (assuming I can figure out what they fit) let me know. I do have pictures (but have not figured out how to post them here yet). I can email the pictures. Have a good day.
