Don, I paid about $2000 nine years ago and it was the best money I ever spent. As for tubi they have a website under construction http://www.tubistyleusa.com/ but many dealers across the country such as. http://www.modena-motors.com/about_tubi_style.htm I spent 4 hours polishing it this weekend will post a picture as soon as I can. Try www.Stebro.net That's where I got my "euro resonator". They have full exhaust systems for the older Ferraris also. |

Yes, I'd also be interested in where ya'll are finding these exhaust systems, any of them, for the older Ferraris. A couple of the sponsor sites just list them for the newer models. Just shopping right now but if the price were right...well, after 16" wheel upgrades maybe. |

OK, Bob Garven how much did the TUBI cost? You definitely make a compelling case for the TUBI. Don |

I finished the TUBI install last night, and I couldn't be happier. The fit was perfect, and install was clean, although there were no gaskets or hardware included. The car definitely feels stronger and sounds fantastic. But not too loud going in and out of the neighborhood for the 10:00 test drive. I can't wait for a topless daylight test. Mark |

Rob Garven, We're going to have to meet someday. I'd love to compare the sound of the stebro on my GT4 to that of your GT4's Tubi (just for curiosity sake). Dom |

Robert, I have my backup 308 4v motor in the car now- I am currently searching for a new set of heads for the v-12.- But if you look under the showroom section of this site you will find several pics of my v-12 setup and another. |

Zac, I got to tell you I am probably the poorest Ferrari guy around but the best money I ever spent in my life was on the tubi exhaust for my car. Coupled with a low restriction air filter it makes the car scream. I noticed the difference immediately after installation. I cannot say what a dyno would would show but the seat of the pants impact was amazing. I dont want to start any arguments but but a Ferrari engine that you cannot hear is not what Enzo wanted. Nothing is more exciting than passing a 355 or 550 with stock exhaust and see the look on the drivers face as I blast past!!! I have a friend who is a master metal craftsman and he told me the welds on the tubi were some of the finest he has ever seen. Here is a picture, I am going to polish it up this weekend so I will post another shot. The sound is not too loud just right, I know you do not have carbs but at night on downshifts flame even shoot out my exhaust tips, very exciting! The exhaust slipped right on and in the almost 9 years I have had it I have had no problems only a sore face from smiling. Zak, skimp on a wedding, a vacation, home etc. but dont skimp on your Ferrari! Rob

Thanks very much for the feedback, I just wish I could hear a Stebro/348 combo so I could make a qualified judgement. I wonder if the Stebro will give that F1 sound like the tubi. So many questions, not enough money; I must be a ferrari owner. regards, Zac |

I have had tubi since 1984 and still believe it is the best all around plus it is made in Italy near the Ferrari factory which is cool. Charles do you have the v12 308? If so I would like to see some pictures. Is it the same as in R7T years ago? |

also stebro offers muffler only bolt on that will fit excactly into place with no other pipes, mods needed. call them and tell them what u r looking for. I put a muffler only on a 308 it bolted right on with all original hangers etc and looked like an original muffler until u got under car. |

I have used stebro muffler, pipes on more than 1 car. No problem. Not to harsh but louder than stock especially wih test pipes. Tubi not worth the premium. jmho. |

The flowmaster was just too loud---sounded more like a comp daytona. I still have it and when my car goes to dyno mext month I may try it if I have time. The sould was OK but too rough for me. by the way-- I suspect that the power is less with it since most if not all the back pressure is gone. On a race car that gets 6 miles/gallon that is ok but on a streetcar, since there is a slight overlap when both intake and exhaust valves are open-the back pressure helps keep the intake air/fuel from "skooting out the exhaust" and helps to increase the milage. ANYWAY--it seemed that I picked up some power and the throttle responce seems faster with the ANSA. |

Charles, Obviously you ended up preferring the ANSA. How well did the FlowMaster compare to the others flow & sound wise?

Dave, Test pipe install was a snap, except for the donut gskts, which is another story. But I kept my Cats and if we go to sniff tests its easy enough to swap them back after a 364 day test, then retest..... One of my cats is rattling, but hopefully it will hold up a little better resting comfortably in my attic. I priced the gskts, bolts, nuts washers and springs JUST for the four Cat junctions, an unbelievable $760!! from Barrett, for a handful of hardware!! I'm looking elsewhere. Hopefully I'll have the TUBI on for San Antonio next wknd. |

I have tried several combinations on my 308 4v in the last 2 months including building the "flowmaster" exhaust and in the end I went with ANSA. It is louder than the factory and better flowing... I heard last week that the ANSA system actually made some more HP on a new 360. By far the ANSA had the best sound to me. |

Stebro is about 1/2 the price of a tubi. I put on on my GT4, and it sounds GREAT! It is a little loud though, but I believe the tubi is also. Dom |

I'd go with the Stebro. On your car, the exhaust doesn't show except for the tips, so why pay the extra that Tubi charges to have all the stainless steel highly polished? |

Mark, I have installed some test pipes and a Tubi as well as some K&N with my 348tb! Really great and much louder. Good thing: You dont really notice when rolling up the windows but when rolling them down and going through the city you can imagine how the car sounds when standing outside! Hilariously loud when reving up but still good sound. Give the Tubi some time (over 100 miles) to develope the right sound. First it can be a bit boomy when idleing but this annoying low frequency looses itself after some time... You wont regret it if you like good F1 sound and tremendous power gain. I considered my 348 as a brand new car after the installation of all three components (Did this all at once). Breathes much better, revs quicker and has much better (and louder) sound. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller P.S. John Stecher from this board tested his 348 with test pipes, Tubi and K&N on a dyno and measured a power gain of 30hp! |

I searched also and couldn't find a detailed comparison. There are several other brands that I think are less $ than the Tubi, Stebro, ANSA, Fuchs, Stainless Steel??. I finally just ordered a Tubi from Nick, yesterday. Does your brother's 348 have the Cats removed? I just put on test pipes, and the car seems to rev more freely and the sound is "throatier" but not a lot louder. I hope the Tubi w/Test Pipes is not too loud. I'll let you know once I install the Tubi. Mark |

I've had the opportunity to hear both on 308's and , frankly, I think they both sound sweet. If I recall correctly, the Tubi was a bit on the loud side for my taste. Both were louder and mellower than stock. Being a cheapskate, I'd go for the Stebro. |

Hi, I'm a newbie on this chat but I've been reading here for over a month and I'm very impressed with the quality of posters and the wealth of info. Thanks. I've owned an 89 Mondial t Cab for six years now and love it. Black/Red hides. Have had the usual problems 1/4 slowdown lights etc. but all in all an awesome machine. Recently my brother purchased a 94 348 spider so now we can play nicely together; except that he has a tubi........ Now I'm pissed. I've been on this sight and searched but I still do not have a definitive answer on the sound of stebro vs. tubi on a 348. I am not anal about perfection but holy ####!!! does his ever sound good. Sort of gives you a chubbie. I would just like to know if a Stebro would give me a similar sound; after all its half the price. BTW I have removed the guts from my cats as they are toast, and have no intention of replacing them. I live where we have no emission controls. I am not an expert but a reasonable shade tree mechanic; have my own hoist and helped with my own 30k service; my local ferrari mechanic did the technical work, I did the in and out. Thanks in advance and hope to post here often. Zac Canada |
