After you read the book, see if you can test either the 3.2 and the t. The t has a bunch more power, has adjustable suspension, and just plain works a lot better. The asking price will reflect those differences. A t is a great car, I've given a friend of mine's and it works almost as well as a 348, which its based upon (same engine, drivetrain, etc.) Art |

Have a look to the book "Original Ferrari V8" by Keith Bluemel from Bay View Books ( ISBN 1-870979-78-8) There are great pictures tables and descriptions of the different Versions. Peter |

That was my car and it is long gone...most of it was trashed anyway. (You couldn't really see the true damage from the pictures...) I have had both and 89 and 92, prefer the 89 due to the lack of mouse belts and associated knee bolster. Would prefer the motronic 2.7 but figure it is not worth spending the major $$$ to swap out. As for panels, the front and rear quarters are going to be different, don't know if the mounting points changed but I am sure they could be fit if you want to dump money into a pre-T but the real question would be why? The cost diff would easily be made up in the conversion and you would get even less on your sale. - JMG |

89 Mondial t's are completely different cars. The newer t's are much improved as well as better looking cars. The biggest change was to the drivetrain. The t's have the same powerplant as the 348's. It is longitudinal and the gearbox is transverse (hence the 't'). This placed the drivetrain lower, giving a lower center of gravity. The t's are 3.4 liter 300hp cars, whereas the 3.2 are 260hp cars. The rear fenders have a flair to them. The interior is redesigned, and electrics are vastly improved. These are just a few of the differences...but in the end the later t's are the best of the breed! |

a guy on here had his wife's friend total his 89 a few months back but it is probably too late to get parts for it, parts can be had for most of the cars in the last 20 years - they are not cheap but ferraris are expensive. check the archives as we have discusses the pros and cons of each - summary T - better power, interior, more money to service, 3.2 - less power, interior not as refined, cheaper and easier to service youself |

I am wondering if anyone has information as to the major differences between these two years with respect to the body panels, window motors, top, bumpers, doors, rubber trim moulding etc. I know the intake rakes are slightly different but are the fenders essentially the same size etc? I also know the interior and seats have differences as well. I have an opportunity to pick up a partial 88 but it will depend entirely on the similarities/differences. Also, does anyone know where there is an 89 - 93 Mondial t, being salvaged? As I intend on keeping this car and ferrari has decided to stop building many of the coach parts, I would be interested in having my own pool of parts. BTW thanks for responding so quickly to my last post; you people are excellent! Thank you Zac
