Robert--usually, one must thoroughly clean out the old, hardened grease from the motor and relube as a good fix. HOWEVER, I have a great experience to share which really did work as a quick and easy fix to one of my 308 windows. I sprayed the electrical contacts on the switch and at the harness plug-in ( under the dash in my case) with electrical contact cleaner . Just doing this more than doubled the speed of my window lift. I was amazed. It saved me the trouble of doing the whole , prescribed job and now it is reasonable--still somewhat slow--but not terrible as it was. Another Chatter in another thread also reported great results by eliminating the harness connector altogether and just splicing each wire together sepately, thus totally eliminating any electrical resistence at the harness connector. I should note that most of the change occurred after I sprayed the main connectors under the dash. Spraying the consloe switch contacts alone did very little. |
