Luigi, have you check if the leak is coming from the Water pump peep hole. You can easily see it if you get below the car on the passenger side and look just behind and below the Timing belt cover (passenger side). Perhaps your pump needs rebuilding. Like Ben mentioned, front engine access is achievable by removing the gas tanks, but you might still need a lift to be able to work comfortably in there. Do not tamper with the Firewall. Besides the obvious safety issues, you will still have to get the fuel tanks out to get to the front of the engine. |

I know the 512BBLM has a firewall access panel for this reason. |

Removing the fuel tanks is supposed to help front engine access, but driving that way could be a challenge ;) I have not done this nor have I heard directly from anyone who has, but it seems like it'd be worth a try before pulling out the engine. Firewall tampering is a no-no. YMMV -Ben |

Just a question that came to mind. You see my 87tr sometimes leaks antifreeze when I shut the car off. Not all the time. (I just make sure the coolant tank is toped off before I take it anywhere.) It seems to becoming from the front of the engine, around the water pump area. Has anybody ever thought of cutting an access panel through the firewall to be able to repair some things at the front of the engine without having to remove it from the car? Or is this a No, No? |
