Have them check the sensor plug first. Then read what the computer tells you the fault is. If it is a fault that changes then the ECU is bad. On the 348s you can swap the sensors and see if the problem travels. On the 355 that does not work anymore since it is one light only! |

Well I took the car out to see how it drives with 2 lights on (check eng and slow down) and after a while (30 minutes) the slow down light went out!!!! Maybe if I kept driving the check eng light would also go out Bob |

Robert: Have them change the sensor plugs, the ones in the back of the car, passenger side, back of the engine compartment. If you then get the opposite side with problems, its probably the ECU. If you get the same side, then you probably have an oxgyen sensor problem. That's how they found my oxygen sensor had a problem. Art |

I talked to Auto Gallery again today. They think it is probably the ECU because the slow down light comes on even when the car is cold. I live in Santa Barbara and I was concerned that the drive to Woodland Hills might damage the car (1 hour drive), but if it's the ECU I guess it will be alright to drive. Bob |

My 92 348 displays some of the same symptoms. Then again, it's a 348. Today, I disconnected the sensors on the air intake and reconnected them. Went for about an hour drive, no check engine lights. Maybe you have a faltering connection at one of the sensors. I hope it's that simple.

My '99 355 displayed a 'check Engine' light about 2 months ago. I took it to the Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills. They played with it about 3 hours and could not find the fault. They reset the computer and sent me on my way (no charge). Another month passes and the stupid light comes on again (with the reacurring higher than normal idle speed - 1200 rpm). I sort of ignore the light and drive as usual. Yesterday, the "slow down light" comes (blinking)on while driving sorta slow. Today I went out today, started the car and the "slow down light" came on immediatly and started to blink. Whats going on?? Bob |
