It appears that I suffer the same proplem on my 348, (sudden loss of power). I do get a light, "slow down 1-4". This happens at slow speed and RPM. The last time it happened, I had gone over a bump. How many connectors are there, and where? Thanks, Steve |

The running problem appeared on one trip only.It seemed as if half of the cylinders quit. This happened 3 times for about 4 seconds (guess), the last time I was in third gear, the engine almost died, as soon as I downshifted to second the engine picked up power again and the problem did not reappear. There have been about 50 miles put on the car since. |

I would try the Stabilant first, and if the speedo is still acting up, then do replace the sender as Stanley recommends. The sender is presently on sale at our sponsor Sodacoms for around $83! Which is way cheap. I think I paid around $120 or so for my former 308 GTS. |

The speed o drop out is probably the speed sensor in the gear box. Not related to engine run problem. I bought my from Ferrari dealer parts and it was very resonably priced. Discribe more the running problem. |

Highly recommended! As these cars age, I'd make it part of the maintenance schedule. Cleaning ground contacts, too. This will save agrivation in the long run. |

I am betting that it is entirely possible that you have an intermittent connection problem to one of the ECU's or related ignition connectors. A friend had a similar problem with his 348 that was corrected by taking apart all the connectors in the engine compartment and applying Stabilant 22a contact enhancer. Problems have not returned in the past year. It is available at any VW dealer, though they may have to order it. |

>>2 seperate problems << agreed.. George, it's not that uncommon for a car to have more than one problem at the same time. are any check engine lights coming on?

once in a while my speedometer falls to 0 in the first 10 miles of a drive. once this coencided with what seemed half of the cylinders losing power/ignition/fuel? last time out, only the speedometer symptom. (the power loss occured three times in about 2 miles each time accompanied wirh the speedometer dropout). |
