quote:improve braking
Nick, so you are going racing? What's the details? Or are you concerned about the heat capacity of your brakes? Are the rears locking, or excessively into the ABS? I know from experience that 348, F40, F355 are biased a bit to the rear, but it only manifests this behavior on the racetrack with sticky race rubber. Street driving, or even track driving with street rubber, is no problem. IMO, unless you're racing, bigger front brake rotors are just like buying gifts for your car. Which is fine, we all do it all the time. I don't need some of the stuff in my car, but I have it 'cause it looks good to me. |

Nick, Have to agree with the guys that the 550 has excellent brakes, but maybe you can check out what Ferrari has done with the 550 GT Racer for a possible working option for your car. http://www.qv500.com/ferrari550p10.htm Best regards, Jim

Thx for your comment. But considering a 360 weighs 300kg lighter and yet have both the F & R brake in 330mm size, I feel the 550 needs a bigger brake at the front to improve braking. |

I agree that short of LeMans, the OEM brakes are excellent. If you're doing it for looks or because you can, call Brembo (714) 641-0104. |

Nick, just out of curiousity, why are you doing this? The 550 has stupendous brakes. Why change them, and possibly upset the already-perfect braking balance of your car? |

I am planning to put a bigger brake (380mm) in te front of my 550 and want to move the stock front brake (330mm) to the rear. Has anyone tried this? |
