I'd suggest the check valve at the outlet of the fuel-pump - if this is faulty it will allow the pressure to bleed off quickly, even with a good accumulator.

Sounds like a cold start valve leaking.
Or commanded open when not needed. This could be due to a faulty thermotime switch, signaling the cold start valve to open as if the engine was cold.
Or a poor connection somewhere in the electrical harness.
Try to take the plug off the cold start valve with engine hot and then try to start.
If this doesn't help, then unscrew the valve and check for leaking, engine stationary, but ignition on (system needs to be pressurized)
If you need further help, don't hesitate to ask.
Keep us informed.

Good luck

Changed the accumulator, car still requires the gas pedal to be depressed fully to start when the engine is warm. It will not start at all with out doing so. Car also has a very strong rich fuel smell from the exhaust. Any ideas where to look next? Thanks

Discovered the accumulator was bad, fuel leaked out of the vacuum hose, have yet to order and install the replacement. Thanks for the help.

If the accumulator is shot, when you pull off the hose on the back side of it (not the hoses from the fuel pump, the vacuum hose on the other end that's by itself) if there is any gas in it then it's seen better days. My car had a similar problem, since the diaphragm was broken or something along those lines in the accumulator it would let out the pressure needed to fire up when warm. I replaced mine (it was like 100 bucks I think) and has started like a bear ever since.

Thanks for the help, I managed to get the car started, turned out to be a corroded fuse holder for the fuel pump. The car still runs rough, it misses until it warms up. Is this a possible symptom of the accumulator in addition to the difficulty starting the car when warm? I managed to locate the accumulator, how do I determine if its bad or not?

The accumulator is next to the fuel pump, both look about the same, but the hose coming out ogf the driver's side tank goes to the fuel pump. Accumulator sits right next to it.

I'll check out the fuel pump and related circuit this evening. Where in the engine compartment is the accumulator located and how do I determine if its bad? Thanks again for the help.

MY VOTE ACCCUMLATOR FUEL PUMP OR FUEL PUMP RELAY.
BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK CLOSELY AT YOUR FUSE AND THE HOLDER THAT FUSE WILL GET REAL HOT AND MELT SOME OF THE PLASTIC AROUND THE HOLDER INSULATING THE FUSE.

1st I would check to see if the plugs were getting gas.
2nd. Make sure the fuel pump is working check the relay and fuses.

Sounds like your accumulator is going bad.

Recently purchased a 1980 308 gtsi, I have a few questions being new to Ferrari.

1) I Purchased the factory repair manual, I was told the only one available was for the 328, and 4 valve 308. Manual had no information on the K jetronic fuel injection or the Marelli electronic ignition. Where would I find this information, I have the manual from my Porsche 928 and discovered that the older 928's had the same injection system. I also purchased a K jetronic manual from Bosch however it was general in nature and did not indicate diagnostic or adjustment procedures. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
2) Any suggestions on where to get parts.
3) This brings me to my current problem. The car has started well when cold for the first 3 months. When warm however, the throttle had to be held to the floor and allowed to turnover for about 15 seconds before it would finally start. Recently, the car started missing occasionally and now will not start at all. Compression is good, plugs appear fine also. Any help would be appreciated.
