For my car it was the cold start injector. It is always on. You have to wait one hour to start or unplug the injector, electric switch. I have changed the thermal time switch and that did not help anything. I don;t know whats next. I just keep it unpluged. |

I had/have a similar hot start problem, however changing the accumulator did not help. There's been a lot of other thoughts on why these cars have a hot start problem and what you can do about it. If you still want to buy a new accumulator, buy it through your local VW repair/parts shop. F dealer wanted over $500 for the same Bosch accumulator that I bought through bow-wow for $140. I have part no. if you need it. Let me know - good luck. |

I have a 83 308qv and it occasionally leaves me stranded when it's hot. From previous posts I checked the hose on the fuel accumulator and it contained gas therefore I need a new one. Am I on the correct train of thought and if so where can I get an accumulator for a reasonable price? Also, is there anything else I should check while I'm at it? Vacuum leak?? Thanks ..........
