Dave: I've heard that there is a carb 308GTS around that had some front & rear damage done in a 'sandwich' collision that is in real good shape. Maybe you should look into it...... (Running for cover RIGHT NOW!) |

Verell, Thanks for the tips. I am thinking it would be best to replace the damn thing, as it is likely to spring more leaks in another spot. My preference would be to find some SS pipe and have a muffler shop make up a new one. I'll ask my mechanic about that. |

David, I've seen pinholes like you describe successfully repaired with a tiny dab of JBWeld after a thorough cleaning of the area with lacquer thinner or brake cleaner with a stainless steel 'toothbrush'. A good TIG welder could also fix it. 3rd option is the propane torch aliminum welding rod (really a white metal solder). For a 'bandaid' cut a 1" wide piece of innertube (remember them) or other rubber just long enough so that it will just barely wrap around the tube & the ends butt together. Use a pair of hose clamps to attach it around the tube, stoppin the leak. Becareful tightening the clamps so that you don't crush the pipe. Wish I knew more about how the 328 heater is controlled so I could help... |

Tonight, I have developed a pin-hole leak in the metal tube that runs from the top down below, on the passenger side of the engine compartment. A couple weeks ago, my tach started acting up, and ordered a new one. I have never been able to diagnose my heater problems. I finally found a new steering rack at Ferrari UK so I will get that installed next week (have had some play in the steering) Man, I can't wait to get this POS in to the shop and get all this crap fixed. Oh, and I have a hot start problem, that requires me to give it some gas to catch.... Well, I guess I park it until Tuesday.... |
