PS - I just realized that you're an Oregon boy. What a coincidence, as misery loves company, and you're so close.

I just drove my GT4 thru Canby the other day!

Oh, boy, oh boy, oh boy. You've got a lot of issues here. I've 'been there, done that' with most of what you're talking about, and I'd dearly love to talk to you about all this. Can we arrange a phone time? My dime. It's a little hard to do this on FChat/email, as a little one-on-one would be much more efficient. I don't have all the answers, but I have some, and I can point you to those who know the rest.

While studying the private parts of my engine, I found a wire with a female terminal laying in the valley that does not have a place to hook up to. Together with another wire, this wire originates in the a/c compressor, snakes between the carbs on the rear bank, and runs in the V. There is a temp sensor in the coolant plumbing (?) in the valley that does have a wire attached to it. There is also a little flying saucer thing with a spring actuator that pushes on the throttle linkage that looks like it should have a control wire, but there is no place for a hookup. BTW, what does that actuator do and when? When cold, the actuator is not touching the linkage. It can't be a cold start, as that is controlled by the little horizontal cam in the same general area. Is it some kind of mechanical shock-absorber that slows the closure of the butterfly valves when letting off? If so, mine is out of adjustment and I can't imagine adjusting it without taking off the carbs in which case the linkage isn't there to adjust to.
