S03!! I like them. I have them on my Vette. Michelin Pilots are also very good. Had a set of those in the other car. Cheers |

Are you talking about UTQG wear ratings? Each manufacturer uses their own system. It's useful when comparing within one brand (like the 02 vs. 03) but useless across brands. (At least that's what the racers tell me and what it says on tirerack.com) |

Yep Lou, you are right,The SO2's are 140 wear and SO3's are 220. 02's are ultimately a stickier tire and better on the track and the O3's would be better for mostly street with occasional track day |

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the S02's have the same low wear rating as Pzeros and the SO3's are much higher? I put S03's on my 328 and am very impressed. Excellent at Lime Rock. |

Woops! forgot to post my first post. Now the second one will make sense. Peter you are correct in your assumptions. Try Bridgestone SO2's or SO3's very sticky tire and you can also try going up a size or 2 in the rear for more stick, I run 2 sizes larger in the rear. |

Also I forgot, Check the tire rack online, www.tirerack.com Bridgestones, or the Yokahama AVS is also a very good tire, just not quite the Bridgestone. |

Look at the treadwear rating...this number is derived from a government loop so while it is not absolute, it should give you a good feel for tire vs. tire life. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/tire2.htm |

I wish to buy new tires for my 308. I assume that a high-milegae rated tire will be harder material than lower mileage rated tires (Correct?). I am after a tire that is probably softer in which the wear would not be as long, but will hold the road better in turns, etc. Is my thinking correct? If so, what do I look for and what questions do I ask a tire dealer? |
