Anyone else know of or heard of injectors being corroded by water in the gas tank? John |

Thanks for the response JRV. You might be right. I use a bottle of Techtron(sp?)for the injectors each spring to help with keeping the injectors clean. Maybe they were just worn out and it wasn't due to bad gas. John |

Maybe injectors need cleaning or replacing once every 20 years ? |

An update was posted in a separate thread Tweaking an 85 308qv for emission test with no responses, so Im bringing this up in a separate thread. The fuel injectors on the front bank were corroded. The car still has a slight miss and the mechanic is going to clean the fuel distributor in hopes of fixing the problem. He said that there was probably water in the gas that caused the corrosion. For winter storage the car is filled with gas, Stabil added and the car is run for about 20 miles and the tank is topped off prior to storing it for the winter. Could the combination of bad fuel and winter storage corrode the injectors and fuel distributor? I have stored my cars for the winter using this method for over 20 years without any problems. Has anyone here had this problem?
