If you've got a "warm-running-when-at-above-idle" problem, the throttle microswitch not operating properly won't be involved, but it's still a relatively easy check/reset.
Please post your O2 sensor output observations.

Yes to both counts. I hadn't considered the microswitch....that sounds logical, a good place to start. I will then verify the O2 sensors. Thanks Steve.

Jeff -- Are you a US version KE-Jetronic TR? And are you saying that you have two problems:

1. sputtering during warm idle, and

2. poor running several minutes after warm light off?

(If KE) Both those modes involve the injection systems trying to run closed-loop based on their respective O2 sensor outputs; whereas, cold-running, and for a short time after warm light-off, the injection systems run enriched and open-loop (i.e., the ECUs ignore the O2 sensor outputs during those times).

Have you looked at the O2 sensor outputs during warm idle? Also wouldn't hurt to confirm the throttle microswitch is closing properly at idle (which tells the ECUs to limit the mixture swings at idle).

I have been driving the dickens out of my TR now that it's finally roadworthy, but have noticed I still must "fine tune" the fuel system. I still have intermittent surging at idle from 800 to 1400rpms. But here's something odd. After driving a while, during idle at the tail pipes, I hear a kinda stumble, sputter, or misfire sound. It's not constant, but sorta random, both left and right sides. It's not loud or sharp sounding, but muffled. Kinda like this....:

huummmmmmmmmmm.pop.hmmmmmm.pop..pop.hmmmm.pop.

Please don't laugh, I don't know how else to "say" it. My precats and cats are gutted if that affects anything. Here's the wierd part. When I stop to put gas in the car, all goes fine. When I leave the station, the car seems to accelerate very good, but then shortly thereafter is back to it's "nothing to write home about" performance. There is no whoosh of air or anything when I remove the gas cap. Could I be adding "cold" fuel that boosts performance? I still have not charged my AC so the cooler thingy in the right gas tank is not chilling the stuff. I've read through the archives and will do lots of detective work this weekend. I have already checked all electrical connections carefully and all are secure and clean. My car has new spark plugs, extenders, but probably the original wires. New wires are not in my budget yet. When I start it up after sitting all night, no stumbles. Just when warm it seems. But when I fuel up, it's only a couple of minutes duration so the car doesn't cool down, but yet screams if you get on it? Could it be I have a check valve stuck or put in backwards for the fuel vapor system? Any thoughts are appreciated.
