Beware your Transaxle--that was the weak link when I installed my v-12--the differential has a habbit of chewing its way out of the unit if you apply more than 400 hp. You will have to do some serious welding to "beef-up" the area. |

NITROUS ELIMINATES ANY LAG AND reduces induction temps by 145 degrees F BUT for the non nitrous car, point is well taken |

A bit off topic here-- but did you look for Pegasus Auto in Campbell CA for turbo Manifolds--some years back they were making cast turbo manifolds for 308's (twins) that were very nice. very short things that kept the turbo right against the heads thus eliminating turbo-lagging from the long headers. I remember them featuring a car in Road&track back in early 85 |

Paul, I dont mind at all. The manifolds were 840 for the pair and the box system was 740. I'm aware there are cheaper systems out there but I would point out that it is 100% stainless, including flanges, mount brackets and test pipe fittings and screws. In addition, the makers offer a vehicle lifetime guarantee against any fault and a legal decibell guarantee (if you want it ) If you check their web site, you can actually see my front manifold on the jig during manufacture. Finally, the whole system fitted perfectly without any adjustments needed and also weighs about half of what the original system did. Mick |

Thanks for that David. The cat is one of 3 (hence catswhiskers) The exhaust in manufactured by www.stainless-exhaust.com They are a small outfit just outside Nottingham UK. Lucky for me they are only 3 miles away but they did a superb job. I've just finished the installation and done a brief road test. Wow what a sound, comes on song about 1800rpm and really sings from 3000rpm upwards. I wish I knew how to load a sound file, its amazing. By the way, they do serve overseas customers. When I called in to pick my system up, they had a 250 GTO on the ramps making a system for that. The owner also runs a 328GTS so you just know there's a passion there. Cheers. Mick

Well I finally picked up my new stainless exhaust a couple of days ago. As you will see its a short box (muffler)sports style system. 100% stainless, even the flanges. I've now remove old manifolds and have new ones in place. (see pictures) With the right hand side fuel tank removed, you can actually sit inside the wheel arch which makes the nuts very easy to work on. My air con compressor is also out for maintenance but I dont think it is necessary just gives more room to work. The rear manifold actually comes out through the bottom of the chassis, just remove the handbrake cable pivot unit to give enough clearance. I'm hoping to finish the job today and will post more pictures then. Forget the band aids, it was a piece of cake (or is that a walk in the park?)
