Hi Dave Sorry I have not called you. I have been working a LOT of hours. I got in on the 16" group buy after trying to get my TRX tires and met with little success. You did influence me especially since you really need to see the wheels on a car to see how they look. I am ready to ride as soon as we have a decent day! I will call you asap.

Mr. Rubble The car looks wonderful, I think I influenced you when you saw mine. Lets go for a ride another guy i know just got a yellow 308QV and he will be hopefully ready soon. The car was a mess and he has had to do a lot of work to even make it drivable. Very sad case. Too be discussed at another time. Call me and say hello to Sue. |

I think the ones at QV london look more like 328 wheels. Their price is good though. |

Mick I was in on the group buy a few months back. I think Superformance was (is) the middleman for these wheels. They are 16" QV repros (8" back & 7" front). I am using 245-50-16 in the back and 225-50-16 in the front. The back looks real nice. The front fills the well a little better. I have not had a real good chance to test the performance due to the weather, but with the little driving I've done, they seem great. I'll take another picture from the back. |

Barney, Are those wheels from QV London? They sure look neat. What size tyres are you running with them |

Personally, I think the repro 16's look great. The lip is different from the trx to the 16. The ride is MUCH improved with these rims and new tires. |

This is my first post but I have a set of 16" wheels from an 85qv that I will sell for 2k if anyone is interested (for all 5). They only have 17k miles on them but will need blasting and painting or powder coating because the car sat outside for many years. I am in North Carolina. |

On the same line of 16" questions, what is the overall driving difference between 390mm and 16"? We used to upgrade Datsun 1200 12" rims to 14" to improve hiway speed and drivability - is there a noticable difference on a 308 hiway driving/speed? |

Has anyone verified the weight difference between the OEM 308 rim and the reproduction type?. If it is indeed only 2 lbs a wheel I would seriously doubt it would make much difference on an old, slow, cantankerous, 308 GTS. |

Yeah, I think so. I can't find any markings on the outer part, but the prior owner said they were BBS rims. I'll probably Ebay them once I get replacements. |

My car came with the Metric TRX rims. I ended up buying a set of MOMO 16" 3 piece rims until I can get a set of QV 16's. I paid $750 Canadian for them (used) and they are lightweight (under 20lbs). They kinda look like F40 rims, 5 star with the rivets around the outside. I'll end up keeping them for the track. Don't get me wrong, the repro wheels look good, but if you're a stickler for look and weight, they aren't for you. If that doesn't bother you, then by all means get them! |

I read that they weigh about 2lbs more per wheel, which doesn't seem like much to me. Is there any other 16" wheels that have the 5 star look w/o a huge cost? |

David, what I mean is that they are real "Ferrari" rims and are light weight. I've seen the aftermarket "superformance" wheels and the rear rims look identical to the fronts, that is not how the real rims look. The color is off also (has a blue tinge to it that doesn't look right) and they weigh a ton! I'd rather have real light weight 328 rims than fake 308 rims. It's just my opinion. If the car is a beater than it wouldn't bother me, but if you're gonna do it right, do it right...right? You'll always have the value in the authentic rim, even if it is for a 328. The thing about Superformance is that they sell aftermarket stuff. Sure it may fit but You can buy "authentic" Ferrari parts from the owners site (UK) for the same price, sometimes cheaper! |

Jay, First you say don't get the repro wheels because they have a different style lip, and then recommend 328 wheels(!)? That would stand out way more in my book, having seen a 308 with 328 wheels before. The repros look fine to me; I'm pretty picky and haven't picked up on the lip difference, will have to check Stu's car again sometime. I bought real QV wheels three years back and paid $3k for freshly repainted ones. I would jump at buying repros for less than half that. |

Randall, I've purchased a number of items from Superformance, including a set of the wheels in question. They are a good supplier. |

The 328 non ABS rims are supposed to bolt right on (don't quote me on it). I found Superformance to be rude, and vowed never to do business with them, but others have found them to be just the opposite. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. I would say try to piece together a set of QV 16's. Just keep looking for single rims until you make a set. |

The 328 ones don't bolt right on, at least from what I've heard. I'd prefer to have "real" Ferrari wheels, but I'm apprehensive about having to buy all new bolts, spacers and possible modifications to the wheels. $1240 seems like a deal, but I don't want to jump on it if the company isn't decent to do business with. |

Randall there was a group buy on those rims through Tazio, check the archives. The biggest problem with them is they are heavier than stock and the rear rim looks like the front rim, it doesn't have the correct lip on it. For the same price you can buy 328 Factory rims from the owners site. |

I've read through the old post and heard some positive and some negative about www.superformance.co.uk Anyways, they have a big sale on 16" wheels and I would like to know who has bought these wheels from them before, and what you thought of them? What concerns should I have buying from them? The price right now seems too good to be true; I'm just curious if it really is.
