355s have an electic antenna amplifier. Its located behind the right ac duct. Its powered by a small red wire in the radio harness. make sure this wire has power when the radio is on.

I had the same problem with a Sony deck and it turned out that the "antenna" wire wasn't even connected.. Doubt that the problem, but hope everything works out OK. Perhaps a compatability issue with car & deck?

I had an Alpine CDA 7998 installed in my 1998 355 F1 Spyder. I am having an issue with reception. Most of the stations are very fuzzy. The installer tried to hook up an external antenna in the car to test and we had the same results. I sent the unit to Alpine and they said the reception was fine on their tests. Please help. Thanks....Woody
