Thanks for the link to QV London! They have lots of the trick stuff I can never find here in the states. They race so they know what works and I was very impressed with the support of the older cars down to the 308s with performance kits! Saluto and Thanks again, Dr Whoopie! |

The only 355 headers that I've ever seen were totally melted and would be impossible to weld up. It was really quite incredible. Imagine that they were made of wax and then dipped in boiling water. That will give you an idea of what they looked like. My mechanic keeps them on a shelf just for giggles, but I suspect that there is enough left for someone to get necessary dimensions to fabricate new ones. |

Mike presumably as suggested FNA should replace them under Warranty, if they don't they are difficult to weld as they are encased with a layer of matting but it is possible. QV London in the UK will sell you an exchange set (re made with all new internal pipes of a better material) for around $600 each side, I have these on mine and I know Art Chambers in the US also bought a set http://www.hamletcg.co.uk/qv/qvimenu.htm

emissions warranty is now stretched out to 8 yrs/80K miles in many states. FNA is replacing one of my customers headers, and it is a 97. Press the dealer on this issue, and see what happens |

Mike, If you dont see any other possibility and cant get back the money: 1. Get it welded and wait till it cracks again at some other place 2. Buy the thermally insulated Tubi headers. They wont crack anymore due to their insulation. You get a better performance and some additional hp, too. Good thing about these are: They are even cheaper than the crappy stock manifolds as far as I remember. So do whatever you like but be sure not to BUY the stock manifolds from Ferrari! Another senseless rip off from Ferrari IMO! Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

Known problem. Check under emmisions warrantee. don't let'em screw with you. Also when in doubt weld it! Any pro welding shop can do the job. It will cost you less than 20 bucks! |

I had them custom fabricated and they can be made at anytime. There is a thread on here with pics of them. Email me off list if youd like. |

There MUST be something wrong, with headers cracking at 10K miles......can the car be running too lean? I can't, or don't want to, believe that Ferrari makes such junk parts!!!!!!!!

I've heard that Tubi makes headers for the 355. Not positive, but worth a check, as I heard it was a better quality unit. |

Whether they are tubular, or cast, they can be welded. Why buy new ones, and have to replace them after another 10,000 miles?????????

Looking for a fix. The dealer wants $7500 to replace them. Are they tubular and can they be fixed or cast and now trash? Is there an option for a better aftermarket exhaust manifold header pipe? Any chance of getting used ones? TIA: Mike 98 355 F1 with 10K mi |
