I have an Alpine head unit with a 100 watt amp tucked neatly in the trunk. Speaker replaced with ADS which fit stock openings. Works very well, even with top down. Agree with others - love that engine sound and only use the radio about 25% of the time... |

The simplest sound system update I used is to turn off the radio and roll down the windows. It is so noisy in my GT4 there is no way to listen to the radio. |

Bill, I went with an Alpine unit, amp, and MB Quart speakers all around in my 348. With a custom "factory look" box built just for my car, the sound is very full and clear - even when I had a Factory Challenge exhaust on! Others have recommended Focal and Paris Audio speakers with McIntosh amps. Too pricey for the same amount of sound performance, IMHO.

Bill, the previous owner put a 250 watt amp and sub woofer in my 1998 355 spider. They did a REALLY clean job. The sub sits right behind the seats (shoulder level) and is covered in Connolly leather. The small "glove box" was removed to accomodate the very unintrusive box. Sounds great, I actually use it with the top down. Even with a Tubi the stereo sounds good. Cheers. |

The previous owner of my F355B installed a 1000W stereo, 10 disk changer, top end radio/cassete player and speakers. In 14,000 miles of ownership, the thing has only been on twice. I even though about having it removed to save weight and gain trunk space. Even with the engine at partial throttle, rolling down the road at 65 MPH with the windows up, the engine makes enough noise with the stock exhaust that the stereo would have to be uncomfortably loud to drown out the music from the engine bay. |

Has anyone changed out their factory speakers and sub (assuming there is one) NOTE... I do not want compatition sound, the deck has already been changed out ,I want to utilize the factory speaker chambers and keep the stereo from crapping out @ 70% volume (where it gets distorted).A simple small amp in the front trunk I wouldn't mind either. On a further not I currently know NOONE I trust enough in AZ to do this work any names and #'s are appreciated. TIA |
