I have also been advised to use Techron. I add a bottle to a nearly empty tank every other fill up and so far everything has been fine.

Cleaned injectors over weekend, Tied into ends of fuel rails, very easy. Idle is smoother, still a slight roll to it, due for a belt job next year I'll diagnose it then. Big difference 2k to 3k, much smoother, can slow down and re-accelerate without downshifting. Didn't decarbon, out of stock, on order.

Try adding a bottle of Techron to your gas when it's down to 1/2 to 1/3 full, then running it nearly empty.

Unless your injectors are seriously in need of a cleaning, it will clean them out. If it doesn't change the roughness, then either you really do need a serious injector cleaning, or else you've got an entirely different problem to diagnose.

BTW, A local mechanic suggested my son to pull his Rx7 injectors & soak them overnight, or longer in full strength Techron. Then thoroughly blow them out with air while putting 12V power on them (They were high impedence injectors). Worked like a champ. The mechanic claimed that if this didn't take care of them, then it was time to send them out to be rebuilt.

All I can testify to is that whenver my 308 starts running rough, a bottle of Techron and an italian tuneup has taken care of it.

We clean the fuel systems when neccesary such as situations like you describe. Although we diagnois the system with a gas analyzer first such as this '97' FI, then clean and de-carbon if test results warrant:

"rough idle"

Have the throttles been synchronized (with a set of manometers)?

I'm thinking of cleaning my 355 injectors with OTC "Inject-R Kleen", pressurized throught the system, then using "D-Karbonizer" throuh the intake sytem. Has any one used this with a 355?, Anything I should know?, 30K miles, rough idle, thought it might be time to clean.
