Now that you have them nice and clean, you could get them powder-coated with Morton 20-4064 HY Blood red which is a perfect match to Russo Chiaro. Looks beautiful, last forever, cleans up perfect.

I have had real good luck using my "Mr Deburr" tumbler. It is a big bathtub that vibrates like crazy with a soup of plastic triangle (media) and water.
The finish is absolutely beautiful, especially on castings, and looks jsut like a brand new pressure die cast part. It even takes off the white marks and is absolutely smooth.

I had the same components blasted with plastic beads. It gives a non shiney even clean finish that replaces the fine "fissured" original appearance.

If you are interested let me recco having your delicate al. parts blasted either with C02 pellets, or with an aqueous baking soda blast. Carbon Diox. is the best because there is no residue of any kind to have to clean out. Believe it or not at high pressures a C02 blast actually roughens 4140 heat treated tool steel. With an experienced blaster this will do the trick quite nicely.

What 'media' - Walnut hulls? Glass beads? Something else?
