F made carbed GTBs and GTSs in 1980 too (they just didn't make carbed 1980 US models). |

Yeah, Jay, those are the #'s shown for 1974-1980 GT4s. I didn't know they built GT4s in 1980. Hell, I'm just happy that they admit to building them at all!! |

Thanks Hans, but is it the same part number for GT4's as it is for the other 308's? |

The catalog at the Owner's Site shows 105844/105845 for all GT4s. There was a supersession involved, so maybe you're seeing an old part number. |

Thanks Steve! But I believe the early GT4's have a different inner bearing than a 308. The outside is the same. Anyone have different numbers? |

Jay -- Robert Bowser posted the following on the FList circa 7/2000: <<<start>>> Front wheel bearings for a '78 308: Outer -- Bearing: LM11949 Race: LM 11910 Inner -- Bearing: LM67048 Race: LM67010 If you buy them at NAPA, the inner set is BR6, the outer set is BR2 Bob <<<end>>> My 161/78 SPC shows the correspond F PNs as: 105844 Inner 105845 Outer

Ferrari of Ontario quoted me $75 each for the inner front wheel bearings today! So I did some shopping around. Trutlands wanted $110 each for inner, outer bearings and the seal. Ferrari UK was around $8 BP for the inners and $5 BP for the the seal (forgot to check the price of outers). Anyway, I found that TIMKIN tapered roller bearing #LM11949 is an exact fit for the outer bearing and they only cost me $7 each. The inner bearing and the seal was harder to find. If anyone has an old set of front bearings lying around, please post the number that is on them. My old bearings are so worn that you can't read the number on it anymore! |
