Mass-produced Ferraris had panels checked using these bucks. One-off's and limited run cars had simple wire frames attached to the rolling chassis, this would give the craftsmen a silhouette to shape for. There are excellent pictures of this in one of my favorite books, "Inside Ferrari" written by Michael Dregni, Motorbooks Int'l., 1990. You may look up my review of this book in the "Research" link of this site's homepage. I sure hope this book is still in print, I think every Ferraristi should have a copy. |

I am very interested in how the early Ferrari's (and other exotics) bodies were made. I have seen pictures of wooden body bucks in which the panels would be checked against after they had been pounded out. My question is does anyone here have information, eg. pictures, articles etc, on these body bucks? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Adrian |
