The mere fact that it is a dry sump is less suseptible to blowing seals, etc than a wet sump correct? |

I have seen several that were overfilled with no damage resulting from it. If it is overfilled it will smoke like a freight train. Removing the excess oil with a suction gun down to the proper level and then driving the car some will take care of it and follow Steve's suggestion. |

(Don't know 355 specifically, but perhaps) one thing to look for might be to see if the intake tract ingested a lot of engine oil via the crankcase vent system (or if they cleaned it up well). |

I have located a 355 which in its past had the following incident: Oil was overfilled by a dealer (not Ferrari) who had the car as a trade in. They sent the car to a Ferrari dealer who then changed the oil. I do not have any other information at this time, e.g. if the car was driven with the excess oil, or how they know they overfilled. What damage can occur from an oil OVERFILL and what should I look for, in person or in the records?
