Thanks Jeff. I think that the 3218 is the color I want.

DGS,
Taking apart plastic knobs & switches that are now 17 years old has its risks especially for me as it seems everytime I try and fix something cosmetically I screw it up and end up taking it in to get fixed by a pro properly,so I don't want to break anything vs masking to get similar results.

Russ,
From what I understand their are 3 shades of the Tan, a Magnolia,a med Tan, and Saddle

I first ordered the Leatherique quite a while ago and received the 3218 Saddle, I tested it on a few spots and it seemed way off so I sent it back and requested Magnolia as my interior is very light Tan now, well that was too light and didn't match either, so I finally took a piece of trim off the seats you could see the real color behind the part which was a darker Orange/Tan

The Gal at Leatherique looked at my part and also said it was the Saddle color, the leather color fades quite a bit over the years so the best way is too look at a piece that doesn't get any sun you'll see the original color

The Saddle 3218 is a tan/orange color

I didn't mean to scare you off, Jeff. You need to remove the console panel to replace the illumination bulbs, so you might as well learn sooner or later. ;^)

You _could_ leave those for dealer service. But, personally, I think you miss some of the experience of owning a Ferrari if you don't delve into the hardware a bit. It's really nice hardware. ;^)

Jeff. I have a 328 with a tan interior and am also going to redye mine with Leatherique. I am told that 3218 is the correct color. If your is also tan perhaps you could confirm. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, maybe I should just mask them to avoid the risk of breaking something

The heater controls are press-fit, with spring clips at front and back. You can _carefully_ pry them out with a fine straight edge.

The rocker switches sit in their frames with spring clips. Once you get the heater controls out, you can push them up from underneath.

There's a screw at the back (once you get the rocker switches out), and one under the ashtray -- when removed, the top panel of the console comes out.

The twist controls have knobs held on by small hex drive set-screws. Under that are hex nuts holding the controls (underneath) to the plastic labels (on top). The illumination rings sit just under the console plate.

Did I forget anything?

Be sure you keep track (add labels?) to any wires/connectors you have to disconnect.

Does anyone know how to remove the console switches on a 328, I am going to re-dye my interior with Leatherique.

Thanks
