Try Mark at Dye Werks, office 770.922.9862, pager 770.890.0630 or cell 404.569.1086. He has redyed many of my cars including the entire interior of my 330GTC. He does great work at a reasonable price. In fact, he redyed Pete M's Avanti interior a few months back. I would have Bo Pirkle reseal my dash too tp prevent future damage to dash and possible rust to other parts that could be getting wet from the leak. |

when i had my car restored, i had the dash recovered. FaF at the time took it apart and someone in Atlanta recovered it, and then faf reinstalled. It is a time consuming and not a cheap job, not to mention the cost of the dash. By the way, if you find someone to do the whole job in a professional manner, let me know. My blue daytona needs to be recovered...good luck Terry |

I drove the Daytona over to Road Atlanta for the PCA DE event to see some friends. Forcast called for mostly cloudy, scattered showers with most of the rain coming later in the afternoon. They were wrong. When I arrived at Road Atlanta, it poured like crazy for over an hour. Oh well, no biggie. I can now tell you first hand, the de-fogging ability of a Daytona pretty much is determined by the towel you have with you! Anyway, I also discovered my windshield seal apparently has a leak. After sitting out in a torrential downpour for over an hour, when I got in the car a section of the mousehair dash against the windshield was soaked. I wiped up the water with a paper towel, but now after its all the way dry it has a bit of a water stain. Bummer... a water stain mark on the otherwise nice looking dash. The prior owner told me he had dye'd the dash before with great success with Rit black dye. Seems like a pretty easy task that would fix the water stain. Any ideas on this? The dash material itself is in good condition. I have no idea how you would remove the dash panels to recover, but they dont really appear to need it if the dye will work. Errrrr just for knowledge sake though.... how do you remove the dash cover panels? Anyhow, anyone ever tackled this problem? Its not a horrible stain but the prior owner of this car was really fanatical and Im going to keep it perfect. |
