Go to www.rainbowproductsonline.com and you will find the Fans for the radiator that you need

I got the Bussmann power distrubution block from a local electrical supply house. You can check the Bussmann website (www.bussmann.com) look under products - fuseblocks - power distrubution blocks. I have got the part number at home and will post it next time. The one I was able to locate was about $35 canadian (about $20 US) and actually had two blocks together that I separated.

Thanks,
Stacy

I too am having problems with my 75 308 GT4 getting warm (100+) here in south Texas. I bought a Phoenix Gold QPB41 from Car Toys to replace the power distribution connection. However, I think the real problem with overheating 308 GT4s is too little air flow thru the radiator. I plan to install a foil to direct air into the radiator and install modern fanswith shrouds to move the air. Has anyone done this?

Not sure if this is helpful but places that do car stereo work genarally have power distribution blocks, some are better quality than others (I prefer the Monster Cable ones)...Might be an alternative to the Bussman if it is hard to find.

Stacy -- the '78 308GTB/S schematic seems to confirm that it's just a big 4-way power connector both in symbol and words ("AMP terminal board 4-way").

P.S. I see that you got the power dist. term. from Bussman. My question below is did you order it directly from Bussman,"address?" or did you get it from a place like Radio Shack etc?

Stacey, Why don't you post the part number anyway so that we will have it in the archives if we want to refer to it. Also where did you purchase it? Thanks.

There have been a few posts about generator lights being on in 308's so I wanted to share my experience. My '78 308 had a generator light that would glow when the brake pedal was pressed, headlights were on, or blinkers were on etc. I figured based on other posts that it was probably the voltage regulator or alternator but I first went over the fuse box to make sure it was in good shape. I cleaned all the terminals and soldered each terminal to the fuse holder. This did nothing to help the generator light problem but oddly enough did fix my overheating in traffic problem. Although both rad fans appeared to be working, the left one must have been running slow because it's fuse holder was in bad shape and now the car runs at a perfect temperature.

While I was messing around with the fuses I noticed that the heavy guage red cable that goes to the white four way terminal below the relays was ultra hot. This seems to be the main electrical power to all the accessories. On closer inspection I found that this cable ends at a mickey mouse spade terminal that was completely corroded. The other wires meeting at this conector were in similarly poor condition and I assume were creating significant resistance. The spade terminals are about 3/8th of an inch wide rather that the usual 1/4" and proved impossible to locate. My solution was to buy a 'power distribution terminal' from Bussman. This has one heavy duty terminal that screws directly on to the large supply wire and then six smaller distribution terminals that all screw onto the six other wires coming off the original connectors. This thing is heavy duty and there is no way there is any resistance across it. Now the generator light is always off, the A/C fan is twice as powerful as it was and the windows are a little faster. The only thing I am not sure about is whether the original connector was some type of fuse but I don't think so.

I post this because I thought you guys might want to check that connector before hauling out your alternators. Let me know if you need the part number from Bussman.

Thanks,
Stacy
