its not spark because we checked all the spark plugs and they were clean. we pulled out the injectors last night, we got 6 of the 8, the last two got stuck. but we took the first 4 over to Texaco and used their tire pressure meter and tried blowing water through each one. what we found was that most of them were not blowing a mist all the way around, they would blow a mist on 1/2 of the injector. there was one that just blew a straight line of water and the last one worked fine. we are going to let them soak in a cleaner for awhile, probably the Techron that Verell suggested. i will also look for that post about how to get the stuck injectors out. if you have anymore suggestions please let me know. |

also, check your wires. If they're original, just make up a new set. This might be your problem. what makes you so sure it's fuel and not spark? |

Your mixture may have gone slightly too lean... or you may have a bad plug extender that is shorting out. |

i agree about the plugs--they can cause all kinds of problems if not gapped just right |

I had a miss in my previous 308 and it was caused by incorrectly (too small) gapped plugs. Be sure to us NGK copper core plugs too. |

First, put a bottle of Chevron Techron Concentrate in your gas tank 's down to ~1/4 full & take a long drive. Run the tank until it's almost completely empty. That should clean them up nicely. My engine starts running rough about mid-season & a bottle of Techron has straightened it out every year so far. If it doesn't, next step is to remove the injectors, then soak them for 12 to 24 hours in Techron, reinstall them & repeat the drive with a bottle of Techron in 1/4 to 1/3 tank of gas. As for removal tips: Search the archives, There was a thread 18 mo. oor so ago with a fair amount of advice on removing 3x8 injectors, including how to cope if one is stuck & doesn't want to come out. If I remember right, there are a couple of varients in how they are retained.
