Bill, it has been a while since I have done it but I will try to help out the best I can with it. On the 78' it has to holes that you line up on my QV there is now holes to line up. When you get under the car there is an adjustment linkage on the cable. It will have a fairly long adjuster on it and 2 locking nuts. Then you will see a smaller one up on the bellhousing, it too will have 2 locking nuts on either side. This is the one to adjust your clutch. Loosen the 2 locking nuts and then turn this adjuster screw. This one is smaller than the one on the cable. If I remember correctly you will want the aduster to push out or turning it so you will see more threads. Depending on how high your pedal is, this will determine how many turns you make on it. After you have completed this check your pedal. You may have too much free travel at the top. Your cable will have slack in it. Now you pick up the slack with the adjuster on the cable. It is on the cable itself and like I said the adjuster bar is fairly long. Then try it out and make sure you have enough free play/pedal travel at the top of the pedal. HTHs. |

I don't know how to actually do it (I always have my local mechanic take care of it), but the adjustment turnbuckles are shown on the first page of Section 4 in your Owner's Manual. He tells me it's a pretty basic procedure. |
