Frank,

I use a different set of tests to determine Head Gaskit problems, but I'm sure their test/tests are more than adequate to determine problems.

When you put the car back in service all the unknowns if any will be revealed I'm sure.

JRV, I'm not I'm just want to know more about this test ? The machine looks kinda like the one used for emissions testing and gives a digital readout as well as a printout on paper.

JRV, that's all spilled milk . FOA owned up to the mistake, repaired the damage and warranted all parts and labor for the major service for 1 year. In fact , FOA has now assigned its head mechanic for all my work. Have you ever heard of this type of test machine that test for combustion contaminates ? If so, what does the 0.2 reading mean ?

>> FOA says <<

what do they have to say about tightening hose clamps, or towing concours Ferraris with cheesy tow ropes?

after all that's something they could speak with authority on.

JRV, it just came to mind when I saw the one added to Terry's Daytona. He said that on a 95f day with the a/c on his oil temp stayed at 85c. Wouldn't that give you longer engine life ? Also, FOA ran a carbon monoxide/dioxide test for combustion contaminates in my coolant system and came back with a passing reading of 0.2. The test machine indicates that below 10.0 is passing. What exactly does that mean ? FOA says that that indicates that I do not have any head gasket or sealing problem allowing combustion contaminates into the cooling system which rules out that possible reason for my water hose busting.

Frank,

get that water temp problem handled & under control and you'll have no need for an oil cooler...which solves the problem of hiding it.

But if you don't care to address the water temp issue maybe you could 'hide' the oil cooler by the right front headlight (on the little perch for the suitcase tool kit) by placing it inside a suitcase housing for concours events.

Who has added an oil cooler to a Ferrari that didn't come with one from the factory ? I have considered adding one to my 1982 BB512i which is a dry sump car. If I added one I would like to place it somewhere that it didn't show for concours reasons.
