This weekend I replaced my original headlights with H-4s. While I had the shrouds off, I looked carefully at both sides. On my '88 328, A/C condenser is on passenger side, and the A/C blower is on the driver's side. It has a circular fiber filter, which is retained by two Phillips screws in the center. I took it out, washed it, and reinstalled. It wasn't very dirty, but my car is low milage. I saw the air-horns too, but this was definitely the A/C blower. |

I can't think what you might have seen thru the headlight opening on the drivers side. The A/C condenser is on the lower passenger side- you can see it thru the front grill. The only thing I know of on the drivers side there are the horns and air compressor for them. You can get easy access to this area by removing the wheel and a few screws for the shroud inside the wheel well. |

Those are the blowers that feed the heater boxes, at least they do on my 308 GTS, and mine does not have any filters in that area. The only filters that mine has is at the heater boxes which are located under the cover at the spare tire well. |

Sorry folks, I found and cleaned my heater blower filters last night. What I saw down in the driver's side front corner must be the air conditioner blower. It has a large diameter round fiber filter retained by a black plastic grill. I have pulled on it, but can't get it off. Any ideas? |

Charles go to KEYWORD SEARCH and type in "heater blower filters." It will give you the complete process on how to change them. |

If it's in the heater box, the best access is to remove the side panel under the bonnet. You can remove the end of the box to access the filter. |

I was spending some time with my '88 328 yesterday and took off the driver's side Headlight shroud and headlight bulb. Down inside the body was what appeared to be a heater/fresh air blower. I decided to take off the filter to clean it, but couldn't figure out how it comes off. So, my questions are: how do you get the filter off, and is there another blower on the passenger's side? |
