Jeff, my dash pad is made with a fairly soft black carpet material with black leather backing and piping around the edges. I also had my dash top recovered in leather due to shrinkage near the window edges and it turned out terrific. Cost me approx. 1300.00 which included the protective dash pad. PD |

Jeff, Dash Designs makes one for the 84-91 TR. The model # is 2042-0-A. It cost $29.99 special order in about 2 weeks and you can get it by ordering through these folks: Everything Offroad 6817 N. 55th Drive Glendale, AZ 85301 Toll Free: 1-877-594-1323 Fax: 623-934-4519 Email: [email protected] Hope this helps, Joe PS. I have one for my 87 TR made by Dash Saver. If you would still like to make one yourself, I could send it to you to make a pattern off it.

Thanks to all for your responses, however I'm getting mixed signals... Frank...are saying you had your TR and Boxer dash recovered/repaired? I am hoping to protect mine with a cover so I can avoid this repair. I had to restretch the original leather and recover part of my TRs dash because I couldn't get an upholstery shop to do the work properly. They did not want to take the time to match the color and texture....so I had to do it myself. It's typical for the small town I live in...true craftsmanship is nearly dead, only big cities have the resources now. Preston...what material did they use to make your cover? I'm thinking since I repaired my dash I can probably make the cover if I have no other choice. Lastly...do you guys use the winshield screen too when parking your car? |

I just had one made for my black on black TR and it turned out beautifully. Frank is right -- any good upholstery shop can make one. For those of you in or near Morristown NJ I can give you a source? PD |

Any good upholstery shop can obtain the leather and do the work. I had the dash on both my TR and Boxer redone by The Mad Stichers here in the Atlanta area. He did a perfect job for a few hundred dollars. |

My TR is black on black, boy does it get hot in there on a sunny day. I would like to get a cover to protect the dash, or maybe make one myself if necessary. Can you guys recommend a source for those dash protectors? |
