I think Re-Originals would be a very promising source for the rubber heel pads. |

Rob - thanks for that option but as I am going for originality, not the go! Tazio - thanks for the lead on Re-Originals - they even have an operation "Downunder" in my home town - will advise the result when I have a reply. Frank - I have 52000Km and the drivers pad is OK - just a bit scruffy at the edges & I have a concours coming up

That and the amount of paint on the throttle pedal are great ways to tell if your car has more miles that the odometer indicates. Those rubber heal inserts should last at least 40k miles or more. I know when I sold my 328 at 35k miles the rubber heal inserts still looked good. How many miles does your odometer indicate ? |

Honestly I do not have a source for the newer heel pads however I would imagine that they would be easier to track down than the older ones. Dare I say try calling the dealer. Sometimes...albeit rarely...their pricing can surprise you. Alternativly mats out of a wrecked car could give you what you need. |

I don't think so, Rob. Too much of that will make the interior look like a freight elevator. |

Tazio: Where does one go about getting/ordering the newer heal pads? Thanks Steve Schroeder |

I went through all of this when I detailed the interior on my 308. I have yet to find one carpet kit (except for new pieces from Ferrari UK) that have the correct heel pad. They are all far from even being close matches. If you are interested, call Matt at Re-originals. I went back and forth with him and he was able to get original rubber heel pads that come in a 3 piece set (1 driver 2 passenger) but the price was somewhere in the $180 range which was too much for me to spend on 3 pieces of rubber. Alternativly, the heel pads on the newer cars will fit and are almost exact except for a tiny prancing hose that is on one of the corners. |

Hi John, Another alternative to the rubber heel mat would be a billet aluminum version. I can make whatever you want and offer a no-questions asked return policy if you're not 100% satisfied. One idea would be to use the same pattern as the brake/clutch pedals I manufacture.
I already make a passenger side footrest for your car.

Ferrari UK advised me that the rubber mat does not come separately - only with the carpet. Does anyone know a source for the rubber only? |

I know Jeff's picture of the GT4 Mats had heel pads. But those pads are now in my car :-) If you need a template let me know and I can send you one. |

Stephen, talk to Ferrari UK, I've seen a picture of rubber heel pads in one of Jeff's posts. You can access them through the owners site. |

Steve -- The illustration implies a new 308 carpet set would/should come with the rubber mat inserts already installed, but maybe they can supply what you need to modify yours: http://www.vcnet.com/worlduph/ferrari.htm |

I've replaced the floor mats in my 308 and the nes ones need not have the rubber heal protectors. The drivers side was in good shape so I removed it and had it sewn on the new mat. However, the passenger side is in bad shape. Any one have a clue where one might purcahse just the rubber heal protector? As always, thanks in advance. Steve Schroeder |
