Ernie,
Here's the pictures you asked for. Of coarse you must take off the trunk lining to get to these components. As far as the control unit this is a real issue. I'm getting one from Ferraripartsexchange.com (talk to Brian, mention my name)one of these days, since they have to be rebuilt in Italy? But at least there is hope. I am also working with Ferrari in Italy directly as well. The cost in either case is about $1000US + your core.
Good luck,

Yeah the pics would be nice. Where are you getting the climate control until rebuilt and what is it gonna cost?

Ernie and Ferrari Guys,

Thanks for replying to my thread. Here's what I did as a stop gap. My climate control unit was fried by the previous owner or just from the flakey construction of this unit. The 30A fuse was melted and there were two shorts on the top circuit board of the climate core unit + several components were shorted too. The hot water valve in the trunk (under carpet) was stuck open thus allowing hot water to go to the core air/heater group and eventually to the defrosters and your feet. So, I took off the water heating value (page I2 348 owners manual), removed the electrical connection and removed the motor from the valve and closed the valve manually. Then I put it back in the car and no more hot air. I'm a software guy and use to hack arounds, but this crazy. I'm getting a rebuilt climate control unit soon and will then hook everything back up and all should work like when new? The rest of the car's electronics and the car in general are great, but this climate control unit is a strange piece of gear ($800 to $1000 US to replace if you can find one)! Hope this will help anyone if you fine yourself dying in heat. I have pictures if you want to see the components.
Thanks,
Jim Hilton

Jim I had a similar problem with my 348. If your fuses check out fine, it could be the connector on the back of the control unit isn't hooked up or has gotten loose. That was the problem I had. Since the control unit wasn't hooked up it couldn't do its job. The idiots that owned the car before me, disconnected it. So the heater was on all the time. Plugged it in change the temperature setting then shut it off. Anyway to get to the connection you have to remove the console face. It is super easy. Just undo the two screws that hold the shift gate in place, lift the shift gate and the plastic cover under it. The one that has the door lock, and gas tank buttons on it. Slide the console face down a little bit, so you can get some fingers on the top and bottom, then pop it off. It takes a little bit of finess but not too much. After you have it off you will see the big connector in the back. If it is disconnected, like mine was, plug it in. You should see the lights on the front come on. If it is connected then unconnect it, clean the contacts, and hook it back up again. If it comes on then you are in business. Good luck.

Jim,

I know this has been discussed heavily in the past - The archives should bring up a whole load of info on this.

One other thing to try - unplug the Climate control ECU - clean the contacts and then plug it back in.

Yes, check the archives, there is a thread with info on getting to this fuse and related hardware that may fix this problem.

Have you checked the Master Fuse in the trunk & replaced the relays?

Hi Group,
My ac/heater climate control console unit is hosed, nothing works.I have hot air always coming out of the defroster vents to the windshield. Gets pretty toasty here in CO during the summer with hot air blowing on you. There is a valve in the trunk that regulates the hot water to the heater that I think is stuck open, thus the hot air. Has anyone had experience with this, no electrically how to close this valve or other ideas? This is a stop gap measure until I can get the ac/heater climate control unit repaired.
Thanks in advance,
Jim Hilton
