I have had the same problem. Very intermittent. Usually occurs if I let the fuel level get very, very low. It will reset itself if you drive for awhile. I usually reset the trip odometer every time I fill up, so I use that to estimate how much gas I have left, anyway. If you care enough to actually figure out what's wrong (almost certainly the sender) and an easy fix, let us know. Otherwise, don't worry! It's been about 8 months since the last time it's happened to me. Of course, having written that, I'm sure it'll happen the next time I take the car out.... vty, --Dennis |

This just happened last night and today after a year of ownership. I filled the tank with googd old 93 at the pumps. The gauge was reading about 1/8 full and the low fuel light hadn'r come on yet. Went to restart the car and tha gauge read very zero and the low fuel light was on. stopped and restarted the engine several times and the same thing, with a full tank, the light was lit and the gauge zero. This morning went to start the car and all was normal again. Drove the day and added some hydrocarbons to our atmosphere and refilled once more. Bingo....same problem. Full tank with a zero gauge reading and the low fuel light on. Bad sender? Why would it be OK after an evening of shut off? Anyone else had this problem? Thanks Jeff Davison |
