Craig, do you think that guy was saving the TR motor for his riding-mower parked next to it? Wicked Tim Allen "Home Improvement" special...

According to my lack of records that came with my car when I bought it, I saw no belt changes listed for 12 years! It still ran up until my rebuild of last year.

Bret,

There is potentially 6 bad cyls there (almost a complete 308!!)And then there are all those updates and you might as well put this on, etc....

I guess you could get the replacement here:

I don't understand how it gets so expensive to rebuild, why not just buy a new engine. I find it hard to believe that a set of valves and some grinding will cost all this much. I mean the pistons will be kissed, but they're not shot or anything. Or at least this is my experience with the 308.
