I've disconnected the throttle cable from the pedal and the engine on my '84 QV. I also removed the locknut and fork at the pedal leaving only the small crimped on screw at the end of the cable. On the engine end there is the larger nut and sleeve. My question is, how do I pull the cable through the steel tube on the frame to replace the cable? Am I to cut (!) the end off the cable to pull it through then replace both cable and crimped on end with new pieces, or am I missing something here? I want to remove the cable so I can media blast the engine compartment and lube and reinstall, if possible. Any guidance will be appriciated. |
