You have vacuum assist on the brake circuit. You probably hear the air moving into/out-of the brake assist chamber. If it's a slight 'woosh', normal. There is also a bubber dust boot on the piston rod attached to the brake pedal arm that is vented to alow air to escape when the boot volume shrinks as the pedal is depressed, you may hear this sound. If you feel the braking effort increase, if you really need to mash down the brake pedal to slow the car, you may have a problem. |

My 355 made the same sound, before and after a brake flush, brakes work fine, assume it's normal. Installed a Tubi, no more sound. |

Anyone else noticed a sound like air being squeezed out of something around the brake pedal area when stepping on the brake pedal ? My Modena has always had this to one degree or another and it is somehow related to status of the brake fluid bleeding. What is this sound anyway ? Only other car I have heard make this type of noise was a rented Cadillac. |
