Jonathan, I tell you, it was the post at the bottom of this thread!!!! Note that not only did fate rise to the opportunity presented by a missing spare, she even found a way to get around the on-board compressor & repair kit!

Hi Guys, Verell is referring to my "incident" today! I was just telling him the other day how I was tempting fate driving around without a spare (even though I haven't had a flat in YEARS!) On the way to his house today to do some work on the car, the TERRIBLE roads in MA destroyed one of my rear tires. It's a long story but suffice it to say, we were able to get the car to his house and get a pair of replacement rear tires at NTW just before they closed so I could get home. In the middle of all this, my pregnant wife who came along for fun started having contractions. It doesn't get much worse than that. I'll keep an eye on those auctions on eBay and try to pick one up!!! Thanks for the tip. I had an auto search for "308 spare" but I didn't think of just buying one normal wheel. Gotta run. Wife needs attention. Too much Ferrari for one day! Best, Jonathan |

re:"Driving around with no spare is tempting fate." UmmHmm,<cough>, Now I know what caused this afternoon's fiasco! Fate rose to the occasion! Please let me know next time you decide to tempt her so I can get well clear of the immediate area(LOL)..."

Individual 14" wheels are available on Ebay for cheap, very frequently. Buy one, get it refinished all for maybe $200 or so... |

Hi Jonathan, Your GTB will use a spare that is exactly the same as one of the wheels on the car (they did not use 'space savers' back then). Right now on E-bay there is someone selling three individual wheels with tires in three seperate auctions. Opening bid is 99 cents and it is not likely that these will go for very much. Just go to E-bay and search under 'Ferrari 308'. As far as the jack goes, there is no magic here if original correctness is not a concern. If I remember correctly, a simple Honda jack would work well. Find the car that has the nicest jack for your application and pick one up at the wreckers. It should cost between $10-$20. Good luck. |

Does that jack come in a bag? I'm missing mine too and wouldn't mind picking one up. Maybe I'll have to make a list and do some shopping tomorrow. |

Hi Everyone, My '77 GTB came without a spare or a jack. I would like to get a spare that fits the car (I don't care if it's original or aftermarket, as long as it fits) and a jack (same deal). Anyone that has leads, please let me know. Driving around with no spare is tempting fate. (I do have a tubeless tire repair kit and a pump though!) Thanks Jonathan
