Al The air should come out either (a) the under dash vents - which can be shut off at the vent, or (b) the top of dash vents - centre and screen - the centre ones can be shut off at the vent (a) and (b) operate at opposite ends of the lever travel and yes, there is a flap in the 1 into 2 control under the front bonnet just behind the heater cores. In the middle of the lever travel, they are all open but tends to favour the under dash vents

When running at highway speeds I get fresh air coming out of the side vents (what the owner's manual calls the long, thin vents by the windshield) even though the controls are set to 0, which according to the owner's manual is supposed to be closed. Do any other 308 owners encounter the same thing? The owner's manual doesn't show it but I suppose the control operates some sort of flange in the vent system that could be missing, loose, etc. |
