Yes, the tenth digit is a model year code used for the North American market only, all other world markets just used a zero (to mean basically N/A: Not Applicable). If your car was a North American car, it would have been an "E". You can find out all of Vin decoding from the current issue of the Ferrari Market Letter. But there was a web site where it did list the break-down of the 17-digit VIN specifically with Ferrari. |

My insurance company says that the tenth digit of the VIN on a 1984 euro market 308 cannot be correct because it is a 0(zero). U.S. market cars have a letter as the 10th digit to indicate the model year. Does anyone have info about what the 0 means, and where I can get written confirmation of the answer? Thanks much if you know and can send me an e-mail with the answer |
