Fair enough. I just welcomed joining this list as I know some of the tech gurus that are joining it don't look at other lists for the same reasons that you have outlined. Some of the people are quite knowledgable and the administrator has promised to rule with an iron fist for NFC emails! I have been a member of various Yahoo lists for as long as they have been around and can honestly say that I have hardly been hit by that much spam that I find it unmanageable. I just use the Junk Email filter in Outlook to recognise & ditch the Junk. In the last few days the membership has hit 22 and the number of emails is 26 so far. There have been a few tech q's so far asking about oil consumption, torquing down QV heads, OBD II & tire diameters so I guess it is off to a good start. I Must say that I really like the Ferrarichat forum as it is so well sorted in topics and clearly has some good regular techo contributors, Rob Lay has done a splendid job with this site! Anyway, I figure the more the merrier in terms of information resources for ferrari tech stuff just as long as there is no NFC. Regards PC

Everything about it sounded interesting until you got to the 'yahoo'. Especially the 'tech only'. I've got a pretty complex filter for the FerrariList.com mailings & the unread stuff is still growing out of control. It seems like anytime I join anything on yahoo, my spam volume doubles. I've heard others complaining about yahoo related SPAM also. |

I am not normally into posting the latest and greatest car tech lists but a good friend of mine in Melbourne, Carl Jones has started a pure ferrari tech list. Why? Because most other lists are overrun with NFC which puts us all off. Personally, I like this format as it is easy to navigate and search however it is sometimes usefull to engage is available in a more direct medium such as a yahoo email list. Carl Jones is very knowledgeable in Ferrari maintainance and is well respected in our region Australia). He also occasionally trades hard to get Ferrari 3XX parts and 3XX wrecks. Carl is well into the process of personally rebuilding his 308 engine and is a valuable source of info on the parts required and general tech tips on this engine and the drivetrain. Some of the other members that have joined are also hardcore ferrari tech junkies and typically do not lurk on this or other lists. If interested see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ferraritech/ Regards PC |
