Dave you've got mail concerining floors! LOL Hope I don't put you to sleep!

Trutlands masters are new. I tried finding which car this is from but couldn't. I also find it hard to believe that they make it only for Ferrari. I can look tomorrow and give you any numbers that may be on mine.

Jay-Hmmm, that's interesting. Where your label says BOSCH mine has one saying Bendix/Italia but they appear to be identical. Was the TRutlands unit new or a reman? This is going to become my new mission. I'm going to use my parts vendor contacts at the dealership where I work and get totally Poirot on this!

Dave
BTW, I sent you an OT PM.

Dave the one I bought from Trutlands is a Bosch unit. We've tried to match it up for another vehicle, close but no cigar. A friend of mine has a 308 GT4 which is using a master from a Dodge (don't know how that happened but...)

Here is a pic of the new master and booster assembly

Jay- you make a good point, but, I'm an auto technician by trade and I rebuild M/C's quite often. It just rubs me the wrong way to see a non-ABS M/C going for $500 + when I know its just a $2 seal that is the problem. That will definitely be a "last straw" scenario for me.

TomD- Don't think I haven't realized that! It's the story of my life,"A dollar short and a day late" LOL! I did try them but they only seem to show the ABS MC/Booster combo. Strange.

Mark- I think that will be a option. The assy is stamped Bendix/Italia, and I can't believe Bendix (one of the biggest brake vendors out there) made this MC as a one-off just for the 308/328.

Thanks for the thoughts guys!

Dave:
I have had luck getting ATE brake parts for my 86 328 at an aftermarket BMW parts place (Mesa Performance, Costa Mesa, Ca) if you take the master apart there may be somebody locally where you can get some seals--I think they are pretty universal?

Dave, I came across the same situation on the GT4. I couldn't find a rebuild kit anywhere. There are a few companies that will rebuild them for you but you have to send them your master and then they ship it back to you after they "sleeve" it. For the price that will cost you might as well spend the $600 and not worry about it for another 15 years. Trutlands has masters for 308's and I think the 328 are the same, even if they aren't they will have 328 masters. After all, if you are tracking the car, I'd want to make sure I could stop. I bought a new one.

I've searched the archive and only found Superformance.com mentioned earlier this year. I had the brake light come on while driving home from the track yesterday and found the MC was leaking. :-( Any body have any leads on rebuild kits? I'm NOT spending $600 + for the MC/Booster for just a leaking seal!! The rape of Ferrari owners on parts pricing makes me sick!
