Progress Report: Just aligned the Hella 450 fogs. WOW, the stock lights really... (frankly) suck. MAJOR difference and now the road is well lit all over with the main beam brights and Hella 450 fogs (clear). The sides are VERY visible as is needed in this foggy/deer territory. Dump the 18+ year old stocks and get modern lighting!!!

Ron, forgot to take my digital camera as i want to capture the lighting ability. My apologies, will remember to do so tomorrow night :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: You are right David, the Hella guards suck.

Ron,

Will do tomorrow or so in the daylight. Basically she looks... amazingly good (ask Verell). A photo of the engine bay is on my profile BTW. Must warn you, my Euro bumper is in dire need of repainting as i DRIVE her about 1k miles a month.

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: decided no concourse for her. Too many BETTER THAN STOCK parts to bother. Besides, i'd rather be DRIVING :-)

Bill,

The dimensions are approx 6" wide by 4" high.

Received the Hella 450 Fog (clear) today and mounted them (the PIAA are too wide). Used the stock wiring on the car itself and ALL went well. Had to add new ground to the passenger side, yet that was easy.

Basically, check the stock wiring and find the appropriate opposite connector at Radio Shack/Tandy/Home Depot/etc. Simply use the appropriate connectors and use a one foot wire from the inside of the beams to the outside.

Only took me about an hour or so to do it. This includes crimping, then soldering ALL the connecting pins for reliability sake. Will aim the beams tonight during a drive :-)

The car looks MUCH BETTER with new fogs and those were the ONLY lights on her that are not totally new. Now she has ALL new lighting... including dash :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

By the way, what are the dimensions of the Euro fog lights? I'm considering installing a pair on my car and would like the same size as Ferrari used.

Steven,
You will find the Hella guards suck. They snap on, and allow stuff to accumulate between them and the lens (and can fog up a bit, I would think). Best to get Stonguard.

David,

MANY thanks my friend. The Hella comes with it and can easily order more or make my own for all lights. In fact will order some tomorrow for all my front lighting as it is ALL brand new (as are the rear lighting). The fogs were the last thing as i JUST TODAY completed fully realigning the headlights.

This meant both housings in UP and also DOWN position are now fully physically aligned and properly supported by the inner pieces PLUS i realigned the Xenon main headlights (changed over from stock by previous owner). She is good to go once i get the Hellas in a few days. Well, she is good to go now, but i want new fogs as the ones on there now have seen their life cycle come and go :-(

Enjoy the Drive (late tonight to test my new main beam alignment),

Steven,
Buy some Stoneguard plastic film. It is cheap, and easy to apply to fog lights and headlights.

Well... bought new Hella 450 Fog lamp kit as it appeared to be a known good and the size would fit. The PIAA were too wide :-(

As the Hella includes stone chip replaceable plastic guards, this should reduce the glass being sand blasted as they are now.

Enjoy the Drive,

Hi,

Want to replace the current fogs as the glass is BADLY sand blasted. Right now what is on there is CIBIE 100E (SAE 02, HR E2 150). Are these original? If not, what is? Is there something better i can fit in? MANY thanks as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin
