Frank: I see....you meant the clutch alignment tool. I don't have one. I used the actual clutch shaft itself......worked great. Previously, I removed both of the ring nuts......didn't have to. As it turns out, the small ring nut holds the clutch shaft, so I'm glad I did......thus was able to use the clutch shaft to align the holes.

Hi.......

Nice piece of work. You have a machine shop at home ?? I am extremely jealous !!

I was asking about the tool used to align the splines in the clutch discs and center the discs under the pressure plate so that installation of the transaxle "input shaft" is not a nightmare.

Frank: It will be a LONG time before I forget what I had to do......but I will write it down. I don't want to confuse this with the TR clutch installation......when it is time.

Below is a picture of the pilot bearing installation tool. I machined it from 1.5" aluminum stock. There is a slight recess so that the tool doesn't put pressure on the inner bearing sleeve, just on the outer. The nipple is exact size of ID of bearing.....just hit it with a hammer and the bearing will seat.Upload

Hi..........

Looks awesome !!! Please write down everything that you did to install this new AP clutch on your Boxer....part numbers/torque specifications too....before you forget anything. For example, what did you use as a pilot tool ?

Send me the details for the Boxer Website and provide some feedback on behavior/performance/longevity of the clutch "as time goes by".

After some innovations, and help from AP Racing in England, and JRV, I was able to install the "new" style Boxer clutch. Now I will re-assemble the bell housing.Upload
