I got the hose at a local (Dallas) supplier called "Winser"(sp?). I borrowed the tool from a mechanic friend. Sorry I can't help any better. If you want, you could mail me the line and I'll fix it for you.

Hi Ric, I have tried every source I can find and am coming up empty. Can you tell me where you found this stuff and who carries the tool?

The tubing (Polyamid) is available in repair kits, but it helps to have a special tool to replace the tubing. Any good VW, BMW or MB shop (or Ferrari!) should be able to repair the line for you.

I need to replace the plastic tubing, not the metal parts. Metal is fine and leak free. The tubing that is there appears to be a hard plastic and maybe heated and fitted onto the metal pipes???

Hey John,

Where is the fuel line leaking? What is the line made of? I am assuming it is metal and if so it would be hard to seal. I live in DuPont and know of a shop north of Olympia that specializes in restorations and metal work. They can silver-solder the line and it is like new.

Their phone and location are:

Where's it leaking, at a joint? I don't know that you could fix it like really fix it (weld, solder, etc) cause it's so thin. But I bet you could get a tube of that JB weld stuff (like a super hard epoxy when it hardens, like hard enough to fix rims and stuff) and put that on it. I bet it wouldn't leak then and it would be a quick and easy fix, and permanent.

Has anyone repaired a leaking fuel line (from the fuel distribution box to the injector)? I have a leak on one of the lines and don't like raw gas falling onto hot manifolds. What kind of hose can you use to fix this, or is there someone who remanufactures these? Any help would be be greatly appreciated. This is on a 1980 GTSi.
Thanks
