If you are recirculating air for too long, the air might build up unhealthy amounts of carbon dioxide, so cross venting for a short time every 20 minutes aleviates this possibility. |

Greg, my car (98 F1) does the same thing, but only when I drive it for a minimum of 2-3 hours non stop. My guess it is the recirculation flap, or perhaps a blend door flap malfunctioning, but I cannot get it to occur with any consistency to diagnose. I certainly hope it is a simple (read inexpensive) fix, and does not require replacement of the A/C control unit as it is prohibitively expensive, if it is even available. Let us know if you find something out Best, Pino |

Guys, I can't be the only one that has ever experienced this? |

Being a new F355 owner I am finding out things about my each and every day. One thing has me confused and I am not sure if this is a normal function of the A/C system. From time to time as I am driving the car a hear a flapping noise coming from the front of the car. I lifted the hood and the exterior recirculation flap (My own terminology)opens and closes continuiously all while making a very anoying "flapping" sound as it opens and closes. This goes on sometimes for several minutes and then stops. I know the system recirculates the air every 20 minutes but I can't imagine the continious opening and closing is normal. Thanks in advance for your help Greg FYI the car is a 99 F355 F1 with 8k. |
